Thomas Ertlmaier

Thomas Ertlmaier is a graduand in Business Information Technology at the University of Applied Sciences Regensburg. During his studies he gained valuable experience as a freelancer and in various engagements for Siemens VDO and Continental in the automotive sector. Thomas is currently a PhD student at the University of Regensburg in the area of Business Process Management (BPM) and Complex Event Processing (CEP) and joined the Center for Information Technology-Transfer (CITT) as an IT Consultant being deployed on projects in the financial domain by the Teambank AG (a consumer loan company) and the jCOM1 AG (a BPM software development company). He attended the 4th Event Processing Symposium in Stamford and contributed to raise the visibility and elaborate application possibilities for Event-Driven Business Process Management (edBPM) in a variety of conferences (e.g. 8th Expert Meeting in Regensburg, Servicewave 08 in Madrid, SSOKU09 - 1st European Conference on Software Services and SOKU technologies in Brussels). Thomas is currently supporting the preparation for a major project for the European Commission in the field of edBPM and is developing edBPM-oriented use cases especially for the automotive and entertainment domains. Furthermore, Thomas worked onsite at the IBM Haifa Research Labs on a publication about existing and future standards for edBPM-based applications as well as on enhancements of BPMN and BPEL for collaborating and dynamically changing processes.
